Today was a bit up and down. We are working on being focused and silent when doing our work. We came very close to our positive percentage but didn't quite make it. Students did excellent in music and science however and were very focused. We learned more about how to answer multiplication and division word problems in math, we reviewed spelling and vocab in language, analyzed a non-fiction passage and discussed the text features of expository texts in reading. T/Th folders went home today for final grades of Q1. Remember that report cards arrive from the district and as they were just sent out, will take about a week to come to you. Please remember to continue work on the assignments on Tenmarks.com for math and to use quizlet to practice vocabulary and spelling.
It was a fun-filled and very fast day! Students had art in the morning, took their final spelling and vocab quizzes then went out for the Fun Run. Everyone went over 35 laps and we raised a ton of money for our school! We ended the day with an all fourth grade kickball game. Have a great 3 day weekend and I'll see you parents at conference time ;)
We had a pretty good day today. We learned more about how to divide with remainders in Math and students rotated through small groups. We practiced more with writing extended endings using our key questions. We read more of Fried Worms and worked on journals. Lastly, as part of our Boosterthon, we created our class name and flag...The Legendary LeDoux's!!!
Make sure to be keeping up with Fried Worms, practice Quizlet tonight (and every night) for your spelling and vocab assessments, and get out there and get pledges for the Fun Run! We are aiming to get Chromebooks for our classrooms!!!! Students continued to work on place value today, reading, writing and rounding numbers. In language we reviewed vocab. In reading, we started small groups based on assessment data to work on reading strategies and comprehension. In social studies, students reviewed lessons 3-5 content. In writing, we shared our stories that build suspense with the "Magic of Three" and then began learnings strategies to create endings.
students worked in reading groups today sharing their journal work. They read about the settlers of the Piedmont region in social studies. They reviewed place value and sung the Place Value Rap. Also, they they reviewed figurative language for a test on Friday.
